To join in with the National Allotment Society’s Allotment Week with the theme of biodiversity, a social event will take place at the Memorial Garden on Midwinter Allotment site, Gardners Lane.

Jeremy Johnson will be providing some musical entertainment and light refreshments will be provided. There will also be a raffle.

There will be someone on the gate to let in visitors from other sites.

In the Memorial Garden you can see a plaque to Douglas Trapp who was one of the founders of the Allotment Association in the 1970s, when the Midwinter site was under threat, and was chairman for many years.
