    CADAHA Spring Meeting [Updated]

    CADAHA Spring Meeting Monday March 4th Fiona Warin, ‘Lost the Plot’ Fiona will give an entertaining talk on the History of Allotments. *** Update *** This meeting will be held at the Exmouth Arms, Bath Road, Cheltenham, starting at 7pm Please note there is Free Parking after 6pm at the Bath Terrace  car park, situated just around the corner from the Exmouth Arms. Raffle tickets will be on sale, to be drawn at the end of the meeting.

    Cheltenham Horticultural Society Spring Show (TBA)

    Pittville School Albert Road, Cheltenham

    Cheltenham Horticultural Society Spring Show is on  Sunday 7th April 2024 in Pittville School, Albert Road  Admission: Adults £2.50, Children under 16 – Free The start and end times are unknown at the moment.   Locally Grown Plants for Sale Many stalls: Cakes, Books, Photographic prints and Cards, Greetings Cards, Jams and Chutneys, Plant Supports, Honey   Refreshments available Full details can be found on the CHS website:  http://www.cheltenhamhorticultural.co.uk under 'Shows' including the show brochure and entry forms.

    Cheltenham Horticultural Society Holiday

    Cheltenham Horticultural Society holiday in 2024 is to North Wales 13 to 17 May 2024 Their late spring break features historic, modern and exciting gardens, bursting with plants from all around the world, from the famous gardens at Bodnant to hidden gems like Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens. Also included is a gentle boat cruise along the Menai strait of Anglesey to Puffin island, home to seabirds, puffins and seals and a nostalgic tram ride to the Great Orme summit in Llandudno.     CADAHA Social Event, National Allotments Week

    Midwinter allotments Gardner's Lane, Cheltenham

    To join in with the National Allotment Society’s Allotment Week with the theme of biodiversity, a social event will take place at the Memorial Garden on Midwinter Allotment site, Gardners Lane. Jeremy Johnson will be providing some musical entertainment and light refreshments will be provided. There will also be a raffle. There will be someone on the gate to let in visitors from other sites. In the Memorial Garden you can see a plaque to Douglas Trapp who was one of the founders of the Allotment Association in the 1970s, when the Midwinter site was under threat, and was chairman for many years.

    CADAHA Autumn Meeting – David Cropp, Defensive gardening at a Time of Climate Change

    This meeting will be held in the Exmouth Arms, Bath Road, Cheltenham, starting at 7 pm. If the Exmouth Arms car park is full, Bath Road Terrace car park, a short distance away, is free after 6pm.

    Exmouth Arms 167, Bath Road, Cheltenham

    This meeting will be held at the Exmouth Arms on Monday 2nd December, starting at 7pm. Join us for our review of the society’s year, followed by a chat and mince pie with fellow members. Raffle tickets will be on sale, to be drawn at the end of the meeting and will cost £1 per strip. All members are invited to attend. Parking at Bath Terrace car park is free after 6pm.

    CADAHA Spring Meeting Monday March 3rd Mick Poultney, The Compost King Mick will talk to us about making compost. He has perfected a natural, cost effective and highly efficient method of making compost which is ready to use in just a month. He will bring garden related items to sell, including copies of his book on making compost. Please bring cash with you if you think you are likely to buy anything.     CADAHA Autumn Meeting – Adam Alexander – Diary of a seed saver

    The Brown Jug 242, Bath Road, Cheltenham

    In this entertaining and informative talk Adam Alexander takes us on a journey around the world as he tracks down rare and endangered, but above all, delicious vegetables to grow, save seed from and share. Along the way he includes tips and tricks for saving seeds of many of the varieties he loves to grow and why when we save seeds from our gardens we build resilience into future planting. The Brown Jug very kindly let us use the function room for a reduced rate. Please support us and them by buying a drink.
